BronVast Scan & Intake

Know what exists first. Then decide what should happen to it.

Fileshares, mailboxes, exports and legacy media are registered as sources and, where appropriate, examined read-only. This creates a reliable view of volume, structure, integrity, risk and context before migration.

Source

Provenance remains connected

Medium, system, owner, location, authority and transfer receive a source ID.

Technical

Never count extensions alone

Signatures, PUIDs, versions, encryption, damage and dependencies become visible.

Decision

An executable route

The scan translates stock into work packages, exceptions, priorities and an evidence-based estimate.

Choose route

retain, investigate, process or isolate

Secure intake of hard drives, USB media and other digital sources
Example: digital legacy

Fileshares, mailboxes and loose media in one source register

An organisation has external drives, USB media, old exports and mailbox files without a complete view. Intake links every source to owner, provenance, authority, volume, checksum and next action.

What the baseline examines

The scan looks beyond terabytes. Distribution, complexity and exceptions determine the real processing challenge.

  • file and folder volumes, depth and naming patterns
  • duplicates and near-duplicates
  • encrypted, empty, truncated or damaged objects
  • legacy formats and external dependencies
  • privacy, rights and possible retention categories

What intake delivers

Every source receives a traceable position in the next process.

  • source register and chain-of-custody data
  • intake and checksum manifest
  • format and risk profile
  • exception list and quarantine route
  • work packages, priorities and decision points
Results

What the organisation retains

Scan report

Facts before assumptions

A readable overview for governance, records management and IT.

Technical manifest

Object-level accountability

Machine-readable inventory with identifiers, properties and checksums.

Execution route

From stock to work package

Clear phasing for processing, migration, transfer or further investigation.

Technical analysis of digital formats and controlled work packages
From scan to delivery

Exceptions become concrete work packages

Unknown formats, encrypted files, duplicates and damage do not disappear into a report. They receive a controlled route for investigation, quarantine, recovery, migration or transfer.

Local by design

Source analysis can remain inside the data boundary

The scan can run on site, in a segregated processing environment or on controlled copies. Only agreed reports and manifests leave the source zone.

Technical reference points

We align the route with recognised standards and specifications where they fit the source, destination and customer responsibility. This is never presented as automatic certification.

FAQ

Questions about this route

Are source files changed during the scan?

Not silently. Where technically possible and appropriate, intake is read-only or uses an accountable copy. Every necessary action is recorded.

Can 2dA investigate damaged or unknown media?

Yes, but unusual, encrypted or physically damaged media first receive a specialist feasibility assessment.

Does the scan immediately produce a fixed price?

No, but it does produce the evidence required to estimate volumes, complexity, exceptions and desired outcomes more realistically.

Next step

Choose the right starting point

Start with one source, one process or a read-only assessment. We will define what should remain local, what evidence is required and which route creates value first.
