First archive service goes live with scanning on demand and Mollie integration

Scanning on demand with Mollie integration inside the SOD system

Archive services can now generate direct revenue from additional digital services within their own collections.

Today, the first archive service officially went live with our scanning-on-demand solution, now extended with a full Mollie integration inside the SOD system.

This marks an important next step in the further development of our platform.

What makes this extension particularly valuable is the flexibility it gives archive and heritage institutions within their own collections. They can now clearly distinguish between material that is freely available on request and material that is digitised on demand for a fee.

But this goes beyond scanning on demand alone. The integration also creates a strong foundation for future applications and additional digital services that can be connected directly to the platform. Think of new forms of processing, enrichment and access for collection material, allowing archive services to expand their services even further.

Thanks to the Mollie integration, not only is the payment processed, but the full administrative handling also takes place directly inside the SOD system. Reimbursements are credited straight to the account of the institution concerned. This makes the process transparent, efficient and orderly.

For archive and heritage institutions, this means more control, more flexibility and more scope to offer tailored services, while other parts of the collection can remain freely accessible.

This first go-live is therefore not only a great milestone, but also a clear step towards a future in which archive services can respond even better to new technological possibilities and benefit directly from them.

We will share more about this development soon and about the opportunities it opens up for the sector.
