The first visit to the new studio
The first visit to our restoration studio has taken place.
Representatives of the Metamorfoze programme visited 2dA's scanning lines, preservation facilities and new conservation studio.
The visit connected conservation, risk and damage prevention, indoor climate and digital production within one practical route.
The first visit to our restoration studio has taken place.
We welcomed Alexandra Daniëls, Sascha de Jong, Louise Rahardjo and Tim Cator from the Metamorfoze programme of the KB, the National Library of the Netherlands, for a look behind the scenes. It was an inspiring day that highlighted the connection between conservation and digitisation in preserving heritage, one of 2dA's strengths.
We showed our scanning lines and preservation facilities, including insight into digitisation processes, integrated risk and damage prevention, collection emergency protocols and measurements of indoor climate, air quality and relative humidity. Conservators Margot Terpstra, Cato van Breugel, Esmee Manubulu and Tine Wouters welcomed the group into our brand-new studio and explained the processes between first-line conservation and digitisation.
